A bengal domestic cat breeder or bengal catteries should be ready to answer the buyer's questions.
The accepted colors are Brown Spotted Tabby, Brown Marble Tabby, Spotted Sepia, Sepia Marble Tabby, Seal Lynx Point, Seal Mink Tabby, and Seal Sepia Tabby. There are also silver, blue and solid black varieties, but not all associations accept them.

This breed originated from mixes of the Asian Leopard cat and American Shorthair. Later, Snow Leopards and Marble cats were crossed with other breeds, which resulted in a great variety of coat colors and patterns within this new breed.
